Open competition for a new church in Charlottenlund, Trondheim.
The church is a blend of classic and contemporary architecture, using recycled brick and stone for timeless appeal. A wooden truss roof, adorned with sedum and solar panels, signifies sustainability and innovation. Designed for enduring beauty, recycled and sustainable materials echo the church’s commitment to a lasting legacy. Spatial organization prioritizes natural light, with skylights adapting to seasonal changes. Three distinct volumes create diverse, intimate spaces, harmonizing with the surroundings. The church’s architectural vision integrates outdoor elements, from atrium courtyards to a meditation room, fostering a connection to nature. Ivy softens the exterior, a symbol of environmental consciousness.
